Anjali Joshi is an accomplished technology executive and electrical engineer who has held important leadership roles in several high-growth companies. Joshi is an eleven year veteran at Google, Inc. where she served as Vice President for Product Management. During her tenure at Google she led teams on marquee Google products such as Search and adapted cutting edge technologies to solve major healthcare issues in underserved populations. Ms. Joshi received her B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur in 1981. Following it, she went to the USA and obtained her master’s degree in Computer Engineering from the State University of New York and another master’s in Engineering Management from Stanford University.

Rajen K. Dalal is President of the Blood Testing Division at Chiron Corporation in Emeryville, California. Mr. Dalal joined Chiron in 1991 as a strategic consultant for Chiron’s post-merger integration with Cetus Corporation. He was subsequently appointed as its Vice President for Business Development and Corporate Planning. In this role, Rajen was responsible for the management and direction of business collaborations, technology licensing, and major corporate-level joint ventures, licenses, acquisitions in Oncology, Critical Care therapeutics, Vaccines, Infectious Diseases, Gene Therapy, etc. Later, as Vice President for Corporate Development he served as a member of Chiron’s Strategy and Operations Committees.
Rajen was a principal strategist for Chiron and articulated its mission to maintain Chiron’s position as a leading player at the cutting edge of the biotechnological field. He also initiated major internal restructuring initiatives to control costs, outsource infrastructure and prioritize Chiron’s R&D portfolio. In August of 1998, Mr. Dalal was named President of Chiron’s Blood Testing Division consisting of the company’s long-standing joint business venture with Ortho Diagnostic Systems (J&J) for the manufacture and supply of hepatitis and HIV antigens and diagnostic products, and the more recent Nucleic Acid Testing collaboration with Gen-Probe Incorporated.
Prior to joining Chiron, Mr. Dalal was a leading business strategist and consultant for McKinsey & Co.’s operations in the management of technology, healthcare and the global pharmaceutical industry. His achievements include the merger and integration of multi-billion dollar pharmaceutical companies, corporate restructuring of R&D resources, and operation improvement and worldwide strategies for healthcare companies.
Mr. Dalal studied at Mayo College in Ajmer, has a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from St. Xavier’s College in Bombay, a Masters in biochemical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He lives in San Francisco with his wife Linda and two children, Sophia and Kavi.
