Raji Pillai’s background spans medical, clinical and scientific affairs with 20 years of industry experience in life sciences and molecular diagnostics. Dr. Pillai provides consulting services, assisting companies – genomics, molecular diagnostics and medical devices – with clinical, scientific and regulatory affairs as well as commercial activities.

Dr. Pillai was VP Product Development & Clinical Affairs at Pathwork Diagnostics, where she led the development of the FDA-cleared, Medicare-reimbursed Tissue of Origin Test, an innovative oncology molecular diagnostic. Prior to Pathwork, Dr. Pillai worked at Affymetrix, and diaDexus.

She received an A.B. in Biochemistry from Smith college, a Ph.D. in Biological Chemistry from UCLA and completed postdoctoral research in Biochemistry at the Stanford University School of Medicine.

She serves on the board of Acknowledge Alliance (https://www.acknowledgealliance.org/), a non-profit organization which promotes the lifelong resilience in children and youth by strengthening the caring capacity of the adults who influence their lives. She is also a classroom volunteer for All Students Matter (http://www.allstudentsmatter.org/) which provides trained and caring volunteers to East Palo Alto and eastern Menlo Park elementary schools.
